A picture of me with my new book Mystery of Operation Alphabet about the 8th June 1940 when 1531 Servicemen from HMS Aircraft Carrier Glorious . HMS Ardent and HMS Acasta were blown up by Scharnhorst and Gneisenau Nazi Battleships. As they were sinking Leading Seaman Nick Carter of HMS Acasta torpedoed Scharnhorst and hit her doing a fair bit of damage .
The book talks about the ships, stories from survivors and families who lost loved ones and talking about the survivors of Scharnhorst when HMS Duke of York blew her up a few years later causing almost 2000 men lost at sea.
It also talks about the GLARAC Association who have helped survivors if the three ships put plaques in Plymouth Norway and Malta etc plus lots of photos .
